Mr Sameh Dimitri Named Clinical Director for Vascular Services of the South Mersey Region

Mr Sameh K Dimitri, MB BCH, MSc, FRCS (England and Edinburgh), has been named the Clinical Director for Vascular Services of the South Mersey Region.

Mr Dimitri has been an endovascular surgeon for the last 18 years at the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in complex endovascular stenting of aneurysms, complex open vascular reconstructions, carotid surgery, thoracic outlet syndrome and venous disease. It is with this wealth of knowledge and practical understanding that Mr Dimitri brings a new dimension to his role as a surgeon and consultant. And now, Vein Solutions is proud to announce that Mr Dimitri has been named Clinical Director for Vascular Services of the South Mersey Region.

So far in his career, Mr Dimitri has already held many prestigious roles within the Trust including being chairman of the thrombosis group and secretary of the Mersey Vascular Group. Within these roles, Mr Dimitri has shown himself to have an excellent understanding of the way that the vascular services of the region work and how they may be improved upon in the future.

Research and academic pursuits have also formed a cornerstone of Mr Dimitri’s career thus far. He has a significant interest in research and is a member of the Vascular Governance North West of England. Mr Dimitri has also taught as an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool, which was a real highlight in his career as it allowed him to pass on the knowledge and understanding he has built to the next generation of doctors.

Mr Dimitri is a member of many professional bodies including: Vascular Society of GB and Ireland; Royal College of Surgeons, England & Edinburgh; European Society for Vascular Surgery; Member of European Venous Forum; Royal Society Of Medicine; Association of Surgeons of GB and Ireland; British Medical Association; American College of Phlebology; and the American Venous Forum. Becoming the new Clinical Director for Vascular Services of the South Mersey Region will undoubtedly be a new challenge for Mr Dimitri but it is one that he has certainly shown himself to be qualified for.
