Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Marguerite J. Critelli, who serves patients in Newport Beach, California.

New York City, Sep 11, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Dr. Critelli decided that she wanted to become a dermatologist after her own pleasant experience with her dermatologist. Since that time, she has worked hard to become one of the leading dermatologists in Newport Beach, California. She is the Founder of Crystal Cove Dermatology, Inc., a full-service dermatology office offering state-of-the-art dermatology services.

There, she works hard to foster a culture that is predicated upon long-term relationships, integrity, and patient safety. She values the doctor-patient relationship highly and works tirelessly to make sure that her patients feel peace of mind and well cared for.

The variety of patients that Dr. Critelli gets to help and the rigor of being a specialist continues to fuel her passion for providing superior cosmetic, medical, surgical, and esthetic dermatologic care to each of her patients. She believes in the importance of patient knowledge and understanding to make the necessary lifestyle changes that will improve overall health and well-being. She specializes in preventative care to ensure health and wellness concerns are treated before they arise.

Striving to achieve a healthier tomorrow, today, Dr. Critelli's desire to help the people of the Newport Beach area has influenced her interest in expanding her knowledge from dermatology onto integrative medicine. That being said, she is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology. Likewise, she is board-certified through the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.

Following the completion of her medical degree from the University of Colorado School Of Medicine in 1991, Dr. Critelli decided to further her education. She went on to complete her internship in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, which provided her with the basis of knowledge to move onto a specialty.

From 1992 until 1995, she served her residency within the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. The Center taught her confidence in her surgical skills with the thousands of cases of skin cancers treated, especially to WWII veterans who served in the Pacific. Their surgical and skin cancer training helped Dr. Critelli become exceptionally competent in the diagnosis of skin cancers, their removal, and reconstructive surgery.

As a resident, she took part in hundreds of cases of skin cancer and was taught Mohs Surgery very early on in her training. This residency's rotations included UCI University cases, Beckman Laser Institute, Dermatopathology, Kaiser, CHOC, and other HMO's. From her experience, Dr. Critelli has found that there is something absolutely incredible about seeing a high volume of patients with excellent faculty supervision in a training program. She feels very grateful and honored to have completed this one-of-a-kind residency.

Following her residency, Dr. Critelli took numerous courses- as many as 2-4 per year- in surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, medical practice management, dermatopathology, laser surgery, MOHS surgery, and advanced reconstructive surgery closures for all forms of skin cancer. She has taken hands-on workshops, including 1:1 training with masters in cosmetic injection, to keep abreast of new cosmetic procedures that she performs in her practice.

Directly affiliated with her professional industry, she is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and the Skin Cancer Foundation.

The marriage between art and science, the technical and the creative, is one of Dr. Critelli's favorite parts about being a dermatologist. As a detailed-oriented person, she thrives on the technical skills required to provide the high-quality level of care that she gives each of her patients. In both cosmetics and skin surgery, she relishes in the on-going learning and skill-building process that allows her to use her technical and artistic abilities in harmony.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body. Dermatology is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
