Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Nguyen completed undergraduate studies at Syracuse University, and earned a Master's degree at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Graduate School of the University at Buffalo - State University of New York. After he had graduated with honors from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Connecticut Health Center School of Medicine. He served as Co-Chief Fellow during his last year of training, coordinating academic training activities for junior fellows.
Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the Vietnamese American Medical Association.
Professionally, Dr. Nguyen is on the medical staff with Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Gwinnett Medical Center, and Northside Forsyth Hospital. In the past, he served as the Southeast US Regional Director for the National Task Force for Hepatitis B: Focus on Asian and Pacific Islander Americans from 2014-2016. He is also the President of the Vietnamese American Healthcare Professionals Association of Georgia.
