Feb 21, 2023
Frisco-based dental practice Millennium Smiles (972-987-4899) expands its temporomandibular joint diagnosis and treatment services, now available to clients in Little Elm, Plano, McKinney, and surrounding areas.
Frisco, United States - February 21, 2023 /PressCable/ —
The adoption of advanced biometric testing, known as joint vibrational analysis (JVA), now provides the clinic with an accurate and rapid method of assessing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function. Non-invasive and reversible therapies are now offered as a first-line treatment option, which the practice states are successful in 95% of cases. Phase-2, non-reversible approaches are also available.

Millennium Smiles explains that temporomandibular disorders (TMD) can have a significant impact on an individual’s quality of life. The clinic’s latest move is designed to increase diagnosis rates, as well as providing effective, drug-free therapies to improve symptoms.
The temporomandibular joints are the two points at which the lower jaw bone connects to the skull. Misalignment of the TMJ can cause a variety of local and generalized symptoms, including jaw and facial pain, trouble chewing or opening the mouth, headaches, ringing ears, neck and upper back pain, and numb or tingling fingers.
Millennium Smiles’ latest joint vibrational analysis equipment is used to detect the small vibrations made when a patient opens and closes their mouth. Taking less than 5 minutes to perform, the system offers the clinic a fast and non-invasive method of identifying if TMD is the cause of symptoms.
As the clinic explains, TMD can also be linked to obstructive sleep apnea, another area in which Millennium Smiles also offers diagnosis and treatment services. By combining its advanced diagnosis tools, the practice states that it is able to offer clients a comprehensive and coordinated approach to overall health.
