When queried why this helps, Mr Morgan highlighted the benefits of having an independent third party involved.
"Historically the asking price at which a business goes to market was determined by the business broker. There are a couple of problems here.
First, while well positioned to complete an appraisal, brokers are rarely also certified valuers. Meaning sellers may not receive the most accurate valuation advice possible when deciding whether to go to market.
Second, a business broker is incentivised to make the listing price as high as possible. This is to the detriment of the buy side who may miss opportunities that are overpriced. Or have to do excessive due diligence to determine the fair market value if they do find a match.
Having an independent, qualified third party complete valuations solves both these problems. We can say to both buyers and sellers that this is not our incentivised opinion. It is the certified valuation."
Mr Morgan stated that the integration with Business Valuations Online has been well received by his team too.
