Being advanced in the field, she has served as President of the State and Mid-Atlantic Regional Orthodontic Societies. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Maryland State Dental Association.
Actively involved in the orthodontic profession outside of her own practice, Dr. Spannhake is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and teaches in their graduate program on a bi-weekly basis throughout the year.
Moreover, she has been a consulting member of the Kernan Hospital Cleft Palate Advisory Team, which provides information and guidance to patients and their families seeking treatment for their cleft palates and craniofacial anomalies.
