Create RSS Feeds Simply at mySiteFeed.com, Which Now Hosts Almost 9000 RSS Feeds
Dec 17, 2019
December 17, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - Anyone wishing to create RSS feeds for their website would do well to consider mySiteFeed.com who have just announced they are now hosting almost 9000 RSS feeds, and will soon surpass that figure.
RSS, for those who don’t know, stands for "Really Simple Syndication." Webmasters and/or website authors maintain a list of important notifications on their website according to a specific set of rules. This list of notifications is referred to as an RSS feed.
RSS is a simple way for anyone who publishes content online to be able to notify readers that new content is available. This is of benefit to the end-user or reader and to the publisher. For the reader, it means that they don’t need to constantly visit the website or blog to see if there is new or updated content.
Visitors can get easily bored if they keep returning and there is no new content and it is for this reason that RSS is so important to a publisher. Most visitors or readers will be interested in more than just one website. For most people, many more.
The majority of websites do not update on a regular basis so there is no way a reader can predict when they should return. In theory, readers could be updated by email if they have subscribed on the website, but that is far from a foolproof solution.
A spokesperson for mySiteFeed.com said, “A recent report stated that around 85% of all email received by a person could be realistically classified as spam. Email inboxes have become a mess and people have started to ignore or even delete without reading so much of the email they receive. A major part of the problem is that so many websites think it’s okay to email every day with content that can only be described as advertising. People want real content, not ads.”
RSS feeds can help get around this issue as they present new articles in a list format with a line or two of each article and a link to the full article or post. Readers can see at a glance if there is anything of interest and if there is, they are more likely to visit and interact positively with the website.
For publishers who make use of RSS, there are benefits too. RSS helps not only to generate new users through increased search engine placement, but it also helps websites to generate repeat visitors. They return because they have seen the RSS notification and want to return.
There are many websites though, that do not have the staff or expertise to set up a dedicated RSS feed for themselves. In addition, many websites using outdated eCommerce software or content management systems may struggle with the practicalities of RSS and this is where mySiteFeed.com comes into the equation.
Any publisher wanting to make an RSS feed can go to mySiteFeed.com and create an account for free. Once that has been done it will be possible to start the process of setting up a feed thanks to mySiteFeed.com’s user modern and user-friendly interface.
Small business owner Paul McKindless said, “My business is family owned and operated and we have our own website which I maintain. I had read about RSS and how important it was, but I didn’t have a clue where to start. I did some research online, but it didn’t really help much. I came across mySiteFeed.com and thought I would give them a try. I was able to get it up and running more easily than I would have thought possible.”
It will surprise many perhaps, at just who uses the services of mySiteFeed.com. It’s not just small businesses running their own websites that sign up. There are many educational institutions and even libraries that are on board and actively using mySiteFeed.com’s services.
The almost 9000 users that mySiteFeed.com hosts have made use of the up to date technology offered. With both an ad-supported free account and an affordable ad-free paid account as options, mySiteFeed.com offers an easy route to getting on board and making the most of RSS.
