Author, TEDx Speaker, Professor and Entrepreneur Karen Bartuch will soon launch her new book. Dr. Bartuch will release her first book under the Davida Jane brand.

Dr. Karen Bartuch is the Founder and CEO of Davida Jane, a leadership training company expressly founded to embolden women around the country and across industries in their professional pursuit of establishing themselves as a leader. Prior to and since the inception of Davida Jane​, Dr. Bartuch has served hundreds of women through her newly launched podcast Victorization,​ ​one-on-one career consulting programs, workshops, masterminds, and public appearances. Later this year, Dr. Bartuch will release her first book under the Davida Jane brand.

Throughout her career, Dr. Bartuch has supported and advocated for her peers, colleagues, mentors, and friends, to help them explore their unique personal characteristics, so they can leverage the chemistry​ of creativity, innovation…and life experience —all of which are foundational to achieving advanced leadership goals.

Business and Corporate Leadership

Before setting out on her own as the Founder and CEO of Davida Jane, Dr. Bartuch gained extensive experience working for nearly two decades in the public and private sectors: as an officer at the second-largest police department in the country, as the head of government communications department at a Fortune 500 telecommunications corporation, and as lead intelligence and strategy director at a top international consulting firm.

This experience has equipped her with both insights into domestic and global business as well as the technical acumen to influence and synthesize emerging business solutions, analyze quantitative and qualitative data sets, provide strategic direction in product and business development, and conduct front-end user research —all with a holistic and agile approach.

Dr. Bartuch continues to bring her business acumen to several global companies, startups, and women-owned businesses where she serves in an advisory or board capacity.

Davida Jane

As a result of witnessing what’s called ​‘impostor phenomenon’ (where a person essentially sabotages her performance and ultimately, her career, as a result of self-doubt) among her female counterparts, Dr. Bartuch​ decided to dedicate ​her​ career to creating opportunities for women. Very quickly in her research, Dr. Bartuch discovered that the biggest challenge women face in business is the notion of being seen and heard as a leader.

In 2019, Dr. Bartuch founded Davida Jane, a 1:1 and group leadership training and resources company expressly founded to embolden professionally driven women who are determined to lead. Through the culmination of services, media, resources, and advocacy surrounding Dr. Bartuch’s set of core beliefs about human nature as it relates to leadership. Tapping this fundamental knowledge and her intuition, she has established a reputation for customizing leadership training and curriculum that is based on helping women recognize who they are and what kind of leader they can be and achieving performance beyond expectations.

Community Involvement

Dr. Bartuch shares her time, talent, and an infinite passion for leadership authority with organizations like the Chicago Police Foundation where she serves as the Vice President of the Auxiliary Board, DePaul University’s College of Communication where she serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council, and the Girl Scouts where she served as a local Troop Leader for eight years.

Among her other priorities for community engagement, Dr. Bartuch has served as an ongoing and repeat mentor for women involved in executive development programs for high-potential women in major corporations. Coleman Center for Entrepreneurship at DePaul University. Over the year, Dr. Bartuch coaches and inspires 4-5 students and entrepreneurs who wish to build their businesses —and guides them with sound business strategy, advice, and planning.

Academia and Professorship

Dr. Bartuch is a student for life. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree in Communications from DePaul University, as well as a doctorate in business administration from the Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

She has conducted extensive research on topics such as innovation and creativity, leadership, gender, communications, social media. In 2019, Dr. Bartuch’s research on humor in the workplace was ​featured​ on TEDx DePaul University. Her latest research project explores the effects of entrepreneurship programming on high school students examining differences of gender and socioeconomic status.

In 2018, Dr. Bartuch began teaching as an Adjunct Professor in the Driehaus College of Business, Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University where she educates both undergraduate and graduate students through an interactive and fun implementation of a curriculum that teaches all aspects of management including leadership, strategy, communications, and marketing.

Personal Life

When she’s not working, Dr. Bartuch enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, maintaining her physical and mental health through yoga and exercise, aiming for targets at the shooting range, and caring for her five family rescue pets.
