With the new announcement, the team at RVA Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab are dedicated to helping patients heal as soon as possible and prevent future symptoms.
According to recent studies, one out of every five Americans suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction at some point in their life. This not only affects women, but men and children as well.
Unfortunately, most of the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction go unidentified and untreated. To ensure proper diagnosis and treatment, it is essential to seek the help of a pelvic health physical therapist like the team at RVA Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab.
The experienced physical therapists are specially trained to evaluate and treat different types of pelvic floor dysfunction. During the initial consultation, they will evaluate the causes of the patient’s pain or dysfunction by starting with a thorough review of their history.
They will also do an evaluation of the pelvic floor muscle groups, as well as assess the surrounding areas. After a careful evaluation, the team at RVA Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab may recommend aquatic therapy to alleviate pain. This type of therapy uses Buoyancy and Hydro pressure to improve the patient’s strength and flexibility, and decrease muscle tightness and weakness.
The physical therapy team works in coordination with each patient to develop tailor-made exercise plans that improve muscle imbalance or any nerve involvement affecting the function of the pelvic floor.
A satisfied patient said: “Dr. Ramky and the team are very caring. When I went for the first time I was very skeptical whether my problem will be solved or not. But Dr. Ramki was right on point from session 1 and within a few sessions I was feeling comfortable and my pain reduced drastically.”
